NEW YORK (Monday, July 8, 2024) – Wintia Memoirs Publishing House announces the launch of the book “Luis O. De La Hoz – Yo también tuve un sueño”, which reflects the success of a Colombian businessman who one day decided to pursue his dream in the United States, the success that he has extended to the Hispanic community for the past two decades.
In the book “Luis O. De La Hoz—Yo también tuve un sueño”, the reader will find the keys to the success of the current Chairman of the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey and how he has helped the immigrant community achieve their dreams.
“What you should do is show them the lake, because they know how to fish. Giving them fish only creates dependency; and dependency, poverty and slavery,” says Luis O. De La Hoz in his memoir. “People are capable of moving forward on their own.”
Luis Omar, the eldest son of Rafael De La Hoz and his wife Judith Sanchez, was born on October 23, 1971, in the city of Manizales, Colombia, while his parents were still students at the Universidad de Caldas. He began his business career at an early age, selling clothing made by his mother when his father, already a doctor, traveled abroad for a specialization.
The lessons learned at home and in the classroom will be key in Luis De La Hoz’s life. Although upon his arrival in New York he started from the bottom, he knew that in order to achieve his dream he had to improve his English. Now he urges Hispanics to keep their language, a fundamental part of their culture, and to learn the language of the country that has welcomed them.
Luis De La Hoz, who wanted to become a professional soccer player, a dream that was cut short by an injury, believes part of the success is having a vision of what you hope to achieve. “We shouldn’t wait for a stroke of luck to change our lives,” he says.
The launch of the book “Luis O. De La Hoz – Yo también tuve un sueño”, by Wintia Memoirs Publishing House, will be on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at the Central New Jersey Hispanic Business Fair. The event is organized by the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey and will be held at Pines Manor, 2085 Lincoln Highway, Edison, NJ 08817.
During the Fair, Luis Omar De La Hoz will sign the books. To purchase the memoir, contact Wintia Memoirs at 201-932-6262 / 201-367-8311.
